Further details have been finalised in respect of the AMASC
(Ireland) visit to the home of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat in Joigny, Burgundy,
France from Thursday 12th April 2012 to Sunday 15th April
2012 for a time of reflection. There are
only two places available from our total of 22 and arrangements are falling
into place. The following is an update
of the position:-
1.
We fly to
Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with Aer Lingus departing from Dublin,
Terminal 2, on Thursday the 12 April 2012, Flight EI0524 at 11.50 a.m.,
arriving in Paris-Aerogare 1 (Charles de Gaulle) at 14.35 p.m.
We depart from Paris-Aerogare 1 (CdG), Flight EI0529 Sunday 15 April 2012 at
21.35 p.m. arriving in Dublin, Terminal 2 at 22.15 p.m.
2.
A coach
has been booked with City Bus Paris to transport us from the Airport in Paris
to Joigny on Thursday the 12th and later to transport us back from
Joigny to Central Paris on Saturday the 14th.
3.
The 22
bedrooms booked in Joigny are single rooms.
4.
Accommodation
in Paris is a matter for each individual traveller. There are numerous options available ranging
from prices of €50 to €450 per night. As
our plan is to go to Mass in the St. Francis Xavier Church on Sunday 15th
April at 12 noon and visit the tomb of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, we are
recommending in particular a hotel which is just a short walk from the
Church. This hotel is called the Hotel
Duquesne Eiffel and is in the 7th District. It is a three star hotel with a cost of about
€172 per person for a single room. The

5. As stated previously, the
cost of the visit to Joigny is €280 per person which includes the return
flights from Dublin to Paris, Coach Transfer, two nights accommodation in
Joigny, two breakfasts, two dinners, and one lunch in Joigny. Please forward cheque for €280 in favour of

places are available and the cost is €280.00 per person, which includes the
following:
- Return Flights from Dublin to
Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport).
- Two nights’ accommodation in
Joigny.
- Coach transfer from Paris to
Joigny on Thursday 12th April.
- Coach transfer from Joigny to Paris
on Saturday 14th April.
- Two breakfasts, two dinners and
one lunch in Joigny.
The following
items are not included: -

Rough Itinerary
§Thursday 12th April 2012 –
Departure Dublin Airport 10.50 a.m. and arrival in Paris (Charles de Gaulle) at
13.35 p.m. Transport by coach from the
airport to Joigny. This is approximately
85 miles. Accommodation and dinner in
the Sacred Heart Residence in Joigny.
Initial introduction to Joigny by the Spiritual Director, Sr. Doreen
Boland.
§Friday 13th April 2012 –
Day of Reflection in Joigny visiting many places frequented by St. Madeleine
Sophie including the church, town and vineyard.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided in the Sacred Heart Residence. Sr. Doreen Boland will lead our Day of
Reflection.
§Saturday 14th April 2012 –
After breakfast, depart for Paris. Free
time from lunchtime until departure the following evening (Sunday 15th
April). Recommendations for hotels in Paris
will be given later.
§Sunday 15th April 2012 –
Optional visit to the tomb of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat in St. Francois Xavier
Church in central Paris. In addition
optional tour of the places associated with St. Madeleine Sophie by Sr. Monique
Luirard. Again further details will be
furnished later.
Depart from
Charles de Gaulle Airport to Dublin at 21.35
p.m. Arrive Dublin at
22.15 p.m.
We have 22
places available for the visit. Payment of €280.00 is required prior to the 1st
March 2012. Payment of the full sum
secures the booking. Cheques to be made
payable to Joanne Sheehan and sent to Jane O’Dowd in the office.
